i can't say i would be sorry if they rolled back or anything.. i just feel sorry for my m8. He just made all missions and ascended. shame if he would have to do that again.
|
So he completed every mission in the game and ascended within one hour. I'm calling BS. This rollback will be better for everyone in the long run. Deal with it guys, play the game how it was meant to be played.

My friend IRL called my cell and told me about it. I was watching T.V at the time, so I didn't hear my phone ring, but he did tell me about what had happened. I knew they were going to be rolling back so thats why I wasn't too pissed I missed it.

Look at it this way. If they hadn't reset it, EVERYONE would've been rich, making your newly gained richness a normal amount at best.

The people that are whining and crying in this thread about economy and having people get something the "worked" months for is HILARIOUS. This is a GAME you guys realize that right?
If you weren't farming or running endless ToPK runs trying to get greens what else would you be doing? Probably not playing the game at all. So what is wring with a few people getting something for little or nothing? They just got lucky. I missed the first one, and I had millions of plat worth of stuff saved up. I wasn't crying then. The "economy" came back and even surpassed where it was. Ectos went from 8K to upwards of 16K, and that was WITH the influx of the new 55 builds creaming UW for hours on end.
The more people know the more the worry about stuff they have no control over. People see soemone getting something and they flip out. Who cares? It is a game. AHving money doesn't make it better.
You now see it al the time, peope get run all over the place, then they don't know what to do, where to go, or how to even play the game (outside of PvP). I don't think it is a coincidence that America can't hold favor now for more than a few hours a week. When the game first came out and people actually PLAYED it rather than sprinting through it, USA held favor for all but a couple hours a week.
Quick and easy isn't alwasy the answer, but for the ones that do it, they have to accept the consequences. All thouse guys that got loaded up with stuff today will get everything they want, and then what? Probaly not play again until they get the new edition. Then it starts all over again. Worrying about what new armor they don't have, or the new chi chi weapon that people have.
Be happy with what you have. It has been discussed ad nauseum on here about how very little weaponry actually has to do with damage. And if it does, then go buy a green for an amount that 2 hours of gameplay can buy.
But seeing people piss and moan about it is just too funny. It isn't like Arco started selling gas for 5 cents a gallon and people filled everything including the kitchen sink with fuel. It is a frigging game, get over it.

By the way the last price reset was done to globalize the GW economy and traders, it was intentional and cannot be used as a defense for keeping this reset.
|
Hmm ectoes price was not influaced and market is market cause it can fix itself: if all prices are down then people will start selling it for cheap too, at first prices will be cheap then they will stabilize. Any market is based on suply and demand, what we have is huge suply but no demand... thouse who know a bit in economics understand that it will cause people to get rid of their shards at about traders price cause of price diff beetween merchants buy and sell if the merchant will sell for 250g and buy for 100g people will strat WTB shards for 150g...

No, he could have just sold it for more. Even if the average gold of players is 2 million, there will be some people with alot more meaning he could have sold the sword for say 10 million, inflation plain and simple. The value of gold, runes, dyes, and rare materials would change, but items still keep their real value. That real value in terms of gold just fluctuates with the amount of gold there is in the market.

If they can do mass server rollbacks then why not account rollbacks? I have a few friends that have deleted charactors because of lag, then to contact CS to find they can't roll them back...

How do you delete a character due to lag? To delete a character, you have to click on the toon, click on delete, type the characters name and then click on enter, and are then asked basically "are you sure?" How does lag cause this?

i didnt missed the first market crash back in august. So anyways, i agree a roll back is good. I bought about 500 shards when the problem occured n countless runes. Not complainin on a rollback.

Mass server rollback is easy, select one thing and roll it back. In this case a server. If they do it to one person, how many people do you think would be asking for account rollbacks? It would be abused.

You can't role back things that are/were on the consumer's side, in this case the characters. However you can roll back things that are based on consumer - server interactions, in other words anything you do IN the game. Prior to entering the game with a specific character you are running off your own computer and what it has loaded on it so deleting a character has nothing to do with ANet and the server.
